Dylan Minnette, known for playing Clay Jensen in the series “13 Reasons Why”, has revealed that he has chosen to abandon his acting career to focus on his passion for music. In an interview on the “Zach Sang Show,” Minnette explained that although he loves acting, he began to feel that the work was becoming an obligation, losing the pleasure he once felt.

“I worked on ’13 Reasons Why,’ which was always very inspiring, but then it started to feel like just a job,” said the artist, who also acted in films such as “The Usual Suspects” (2013), “Goosebumps” ” (2015) and “Scream 5” (2015). 2022).

Without acting since the miniseries “The Drop Out” (2022), he now dedicates himself exclusively to his band, Wallows, formed together with Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston. The band has gained prominence and gained a solid fan base, which reinforces Minnette’s decision to follow this new artistic path. “The only way that will happen is if I put 100% of my time and energy into this project, take it very seriously, and show the world that we all take it very seriously,” she explained.

The musical group formed in 2017 and performed in Brazil at Lollapalooza in 2023. “This is a real band, we will do real band things,” he guaranteed.

Despite this, the artist does not rule out the idea of ​​returning to acting. “At some point, when we’ve finished our duties at Wallows and we’re all ready to take a break as a band, that’s when I’ll have the perfect inspiration to do something.”
