The punk rock veterans invited Sheeran to share the stage after reading an interview in which he mentioned being a fan of the group
Ed Sheeran realized a personal dream after performing with the band The Offspring at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival in Northern California (USA). The artists shared the stage to sing “Million Miles Away,” released by the punk rock veterans in 2000.
In the presentation, Dexter Holland provided details about their personal invitation to the pop singer: “Ed told us that one of our records was the first CD he bought when he was a kid. That really meant a lot to us, so we thought, ” Wow, we’d love for you to come with us on stage.” Let’s play one of the songs you wanted to play.”
Sheeran confirmed the information after going on stage to trade verses with the musicians: “The first album I bought was ‘Conspiracy of One’. I used to pretend I was in their band in the mirror and sing along to the album when I had nine years”. , especially their song, Million Miles Away, since it was the first song of theirs I heard,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I talked about it in an interview and Dexter contacted me when they found out we were all playing the same festival, to see if I wanted to get on stage and sing it,” Sheeran continued. “It really felt like I was living a childhood dream, thanks for having me guys. Music is a wild ride, every day I’m so grateful to make my dream a reality.”
After the show, Sheeran also took the opportunity to immortalize the special moment with a photo with the band members (Holland, Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman, Todd Morse, Jonah Nimoy and Brandon Pertzborn) around the tattoo on his rib with the fire skull logo.
