Artists join Vini Jr on music “as strong as ‘We Are the World'”

Ludmilla, MC Ryan SP, MC Hariel and Ice Blue record “Os Pretos no Due Lugar” to highlight the anti-racist fight and support the player

Artists such as Ludmilla, MC Ryan SP, MC Hariel and Ice Blue, of Racionais MC’s, came together to release the song “Os Pretos no Due Lugar”. The song pays homage to Vini Jr and the anti-racism struggle and received a 17-minute clip after premiering on Sunday’s “Fantástico” (2/6).

The recording was an initiative of Rodrigo Oliveira, producer and CEO of the GR6 Music record label, with the aim of strengthening the fight against racism and demonstrating solidarity with the player. “Even though Vini is facing a solitary journey in Europe, we know that this reality is also experienced by many in Brazil. This song serves to remind him that he is not alone and that we are mobilizing here to fight for this very significant cause,” said Rodrigo .

Clip

Directed by Léo Vale and Vitinho Tavares, of GR6 Filmes, the clip tells the story of Vini Jr, from childhood to success as a footballer. The production combines home images and important moments from their careers with scenes of the artists recording in the studio.

In addition to those mentioned, MC Kelvinho, MC IG, MC Davi, Vulgo FK, MC Livinho, MC Don Juan, MC Kadu and MC Luki also participate in the recording.

Resistance message

The song, composed by the same artists, appears as a symbol of resistance. “The lyrics address the pain caused by discrimination, highlight the importance of unity and the need for a more just and egalitarian society. We brought together twelve artists, many of them black, and this made a difference,” explained Rodrigo.

The producer compared the new song to the anthem “We Are the World.” “We want to create a strong anthem like ‘We are the world’, created in the 80s to fight hunger on the African continent. Brazil is capable of producing something new and equally relevant and I am sure that urban music will be what it will do provide the necessary stage for this. Brazil has the capacity to produce something equally innovative and significant. Urban music will be the perfect stage for this,” he said.
