Last Friday (31), the singer Kehlani released the music video for the song Next 2 U and demonstrated support for Palestine.
“As an artist, I was nervous, terrified, worried after losing so much of what I valued for an album I worked incredibly hard on for my humanity, along with the numbing wonder of what music was appropriate to release during history’s most historic tragedies our generation”, he said on his Instagram.
“I remembered my favorite revolutionary poets, singers, and filmmakers. I remembered the impact we have. I thought about my favorite James Baldwin quotes about the role of an artist in society. I’ve listened to this song enough to recognize that it’s a song of love It’s a song of protectors It’s revolution”, he has declared.
It is worth mentioning that his new album accident will be released on June 21st.
Kehlani also released a t-shirt where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help Palestinian, Congolese and Sudanese families.
