The singer will go on a farewell tour of 23 cities in North America after her performance in Rio de Janeiro
Singer Cyndi Lauper, with hits such as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” (1983) and “True Colors” (1986), announced this Monday (3/5) her retirement from the stage. The 70-year-old artist revealed that she will be on a farewell tour of 23 cities across North America starting in October.
Participation in Rock in Rio
Before the tour, Lauper will be one of the attractions of Rock in Rio, performing on September 20th at Palco Mundo, during Dia Delas, an event dedicated exclusively to female artists. On the same evening, Katy Perry and Ivete Sangalo will take the stage.
Therefore, the tour will actually start in Rio. In North America, the first show is scheduled for October 18 in Montreal, Canada, while the last is scheduled for December 5 in Chicago, United States.
The reason for his retirement will be addressed in a documentary, premiering this Tuesday (5/4) on the Paramount+ platform.
