Roberto de Carvalho reveals the release of a song and video with new content left by Rita Lee

The version of the Italian song ‘Volare’ will be released this Wednesday, Valentine’s Day

The musician Roberto de Carvalho revealed in an interview with Fantasticthis Sunday, the 9th, who will release a song and a video with the participation Rita Leewith whom she maintained a relationship from 1976 until the singer’s death in 2023. Rita died after her cancer was in remission, but, according to Carvalho, left behind recorded files to be released to fans posthumously.

The song and video, which will be released on Valentine’s Day, are a version of the Italian classic ‘Volare’, by Domenico Modugno, but this time with a bossa nova rhythm.

At the place where he lived with the singer in Greater São Paulo, Carvalho provided details about the song. “The metaphor of the text and the video is as if Rita is flying here, as if she is watching. As if she is, no… she is!”, she said.

The musician also revealed that Rita left behind other completed productions, such as a fiction book and other unreleased songs. The book is expected to be released later this year, while the songs await “signs” of being released. “Because we communicate through telepathy, we have trained our whole lives,” she said.

For him, publicizing the singer’s productions is “a way to satisfy her desire, a way to pay homage to her, to make sure her work remains alive”.
