Alma Djem announces Chimarruts and Maskavo for live DVD recording

The project will take place in Sao Paulo, on July 18th, at Audio, starting from 8pm and also sees the presence of Roberta Campos and Maneva confirmed.

Formed in 1997, the Djem soul announced a big step in his career: recording a DVD titled “Acústico em São Paulo”, live, at Audio on July 18th. The first special appearances concern two big names with a strong influence on the Brazilian music scene: Roberta Campos AND Maneuver.

The band announced the news with a lot of emotion and joy in their hearts, recapping when they left Brasilia and arrived in challenging São Paulo, starting their brilliant career:

“We face challenges, celebrate victories and build friendships. A dream dreamed together becomes reality and the time has come to record our first DVD in São Paulo, but not just any: our Acústico!”, they announced.

In addition to the first two confirmed, the artists have promised big surprises and a very rich line-up to make the evening even more special and full of emotions for the fans:

“We will have great names of national Reggae and Brazilian music at our side, in memorable appearances and in the repertoire, in addition to the hits that have already won your heart, we have prepared surprises and new songs that we can’t wait to share with everyone Every note, every agreement is dedicated to you, our fans, who have always been by our side”, they concluded.

New names

Increasing the more than special appearances, the band has announced two more names that will be part of an evening of celebration: the icons Chimarruts, owners of hits such as “Do Lado de Cá” and “Pirei”. Another more than confirmed exponent of reggae is the group Maskavo, known for “Anjo do Céu” and “Perto de Deus”. More musicians will be announced soon.

Special songs

For the show, the band has 30 songs planned: a setlist full of hits, new songs and re-recordings of some hits that have become popular in Brazilian music, including “Onda Maia”, co-authored by Fabio Brazzaone of the strongest names in the Brazilian rap scene, will perform with his presence on stage.

They also guarantee that compositions made in collaboration with big names will be performed, including “O Passarinho”, which has Michael Sullivan as co-author; “Perfeitinha”, composed with Touchfrom Falamansa, e Zeiderby Planta & Raiz and “Amor Natural”, alongside Gabriele Elia.

Another highlight of the show is the songs written by Marcelo Mira, the talented singer of Alma Djem. He is also a big name on the Brazilian scene, as he co-wrote hits by famous names such as Claudia Leitte, Wanessa Camargo, Rick Martin and Jorge & Mateus.

They have also reserved a category to help Rio Grande do Sul: half a solidarity ticket, for just 60 reais, guarantees entry to the event. To validate, simply bring one kilo of non-perishable food on the day of the show. On stage the band will be made up of 11 names, including guitar, cavaquinho, piano, keyboards and drums.
