Rock in Rio Lisbon attraction, Evanescence singer celebrated the undeniable success of ‘Fallen’, from 2003: “it’s like dancing without reason, at any time”
Amy Lee talked about the success of Fallenfirst album by Evanescencereleased in 2003. Owner of hits such as “Bring Me To Life”the album is an unavoidable moment in the group’s repertoire, which performed this Saturday (15), at Rock in Rio Lisboa:
“We kind of started celebrating this album last year, and we’ve continued to do that, which is cool because the celebration date is out of the question now. It’s like dancing for no reason, at any time,” Lee told’The globe.
With 20 million copies sold, Fallen “continues to reverberate” on the stages where the band performs. “And it will always be like this,” he confirmed.
“I am very grateful for the success of this work. The history we have with the band, always with our hearts inside, remains alive for several years. This makes us strong to do new things. And now is a great opportunity to celebrate all this time with Rock in Rio.”
Industry pressure
Asked about the pressure of repeating Fallen’s success in new works, the 42-year-old singer said that she doesn’t let herself get caught up in industry pressure:
“I no longer put pressure on myself for the music industry. I simply do what I believe in, following my heart. This way, there will always be someone moved and crying with my songs. I make music for a living, as a personal need, to express feelings I have inside me. It’s always been like this. If I do it any other way, the work becomes a mere game with machines and algorithms.
According to the report, Amy Lee is still preparing a new album that should be released “soon”.
Attraction of Rock in Rio Lisboa, Evanescence returns to Brazil, where it visited in 2023, for the Rio edition of the festival. They perform on the day September 15th at the World Stage – the day when other rock performances such as Journey It is Deep Purple command the Rock in Rio.
