The poet of Piauí has already been sung by Gal Costa, Titãs and Maria Bethânia and has been honored by Caetano Veloso
Torquato Neto’s work is staged in a show-performance at the Teatro Oficina. Zé Ed, former singer of the São Paulo block “tarado ni você”, is responsible for the vocals in this presentation. The repertoire includes songs such as “Mamãe Coragem”, “Três da Madrugada” (immortalized in the voice of Gal Costa), “Pra Dizer Adeus” (Maria Bethânia) and “Go Back” (Titãs), as well as Cajuína (by Caetano Veloso, made for Torquato).
GO BACK: COME SEE OR COME TORQU4TO – show with songs, poems and lyrics by the poet Piauí will be presented next weekend at the Teatro Oficina, on 22, 23, 29 and 30 June – Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 8pm 7pm.
The performance creates a scenic game with the words here, there, come, see, or they come randomly on video, opening a flow of scenes that outline a new script every day.
Among poems, texts from the Geléia Geral column, films, images and songs, the artists Zé Ed, Kelly Campelo, Cafira Zoé, Camila Fonseca, Jards Macalé, Sylvia Prado, Lucas Andrade, José Celso Martinez Corrêa, Marília Gallmeister, Clarisse Johansson, Nash Laila, Isabela Mariotto give voice to the ambiguous, double, sweet, ironic voice of Torquato Neto.
The band includes Luiz Gayotto (guitar, piano and vocals), Clara Bastos (acoustic bass), Luccas Bracco (acoustic bass) and Moita Mattos (guitar, programming and soundtrack). Video art and live cinema are curated by Ciça Lucchesi and Victor Rosa. The sound operation is curated by Camila Fonseca and Guina Santos.
Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the Theater box office 1 hour before each show.
