The duo was working on the song “Us,” which will be part of Gracie’s upcoming album, titled “The Secret of Us,” when it all happened.
In a video posted to Instagram, Gracie showed Taylor desperately trying to put out the fire that broke out on the kitchen counter. “I think we’re going to die,” Taylor said as he used a fire extinguisher for the first time to control the flames, unsure how to make it work. When she gets it right, she is surprised by the amount of spray that comes out of the fire extinguisher.
Gracie also commented on the property damage caused by the accident: “Our bags are ruined. And my shoes. And the whole room, I think.”
Despite the scare, Gracie remained in good spirits and joked in the caption of the post: “Now we know how to use a fire extinguisher. I love you.”
Composition interrupted
The singers were in the midst of a creative process when the fire broke out, interrupting the songwriting session. Fortunately, no one was injured and the incident served as a reminder of the importance of having a fire extinguisher in the home.
