Singer Sabrina Carpenter prepares for the release of her new studio album Short and sweet on August 23.
According to Billboard, she could be nominated for a 2025 Grammy in each of the four major categories: album, recording and song of the year, as well as best new artist.
Sabrina is eligible for a nomination for Best New Artist for her sixth album. The Recording Academy bases eligibility on when an artist “achieved a breakthrough in the public consciousness“.
“Although a maximum number of releases is not specified, the Screening Committee will be responsible for determining whether the artist has achieved a success or highlight prior to the year of eligibility. Such a determination would result in disqualification,” affirm the rules and guidelines for the upcoming 67th Grammys Press.
It’s worth noting that although Sabrina Carpenter had never climbed higher than No. 48 on the Hot 100 prior to this year of eligibility, she has been turning heads in recent months with her current single, Please, please, please.
It is worth mentioning that the singer has been included in the Best New Artist category twice, in 2017 and 2024.
“This category honors an artist whose releases in the year of eligibility have achieved a breakthrough in public consciousness and have had a notable impact on the music scene,” says the rule.
Grammy nominations will be announced on November 8.
