Amado Batista is sentenced to pay his ex’s pension after abandoning his career

The singer will pay a three-year “allowance” to his ex-girlfriend to complete veterinary medicine school

The Court of Justice of Tocantins sentenced singer Amado Batista to pay a pension of R$10,000 to his ex-girlfriend, Layza Felizardo, with whom he had a relationship for the last four years. The information was published on Sunday (30/6) by columnist Fábia Oliveira.

The relationship ended in late 2023, when Layza filed a lawsuit claiming she abandoned her career while they were dating to take care of the artist’s businesses. The action also describes that Batista gave her a check of R$10,000 and that she had to move to Goiânia, her home state of Amazonas.

Lucky or unlucky?

Making matters worse, Batista reportedly said earlier this year that he had agreed to keep the monthly payments but was uncomfortable with the late fees and small deposits, and said the young woman “won the lottery” with their relationship.

When evaluating the case last week, judge João Rigo Guimarães took into account the time left for Layza to complete Veterinary Medicine and ruled that the sum will be paid over three years.

It is unclear whether Amado Batista’s defense will appeal the decision.
