In one of the moments in which the actor got emotional, Chris Martin said “Go, Johnny, go, go, go!”, in reference to the iconic scene from the film Back to the Future in which Marty McFly performs the song Johnny B Goode, by Chuck Berry.
Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease nearly 30 years ago. He has had other health issues recently, such as surgery to remove a tumor in 2018, the same year he broke his arm due to mobility difficulties in a home accident.
In 2016, the actor had already attended a Coldplay concert in New York City. Johnny B. Goode played on the occasion and was celebrated by the singer, who often underlines to the group members the importance of his role in the film.
