Pearl Jam left fans concerned on Sunday afternoon (6/30) after announcing the cancellation of two shows scheduled for July 2 and 3 at the Waldbühne Theater in Germany. The band had already canceled a performance on Saturday (6/29) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in England.
As in the previous statement, Pearl Jam apologized for the short-notice cancellation and explained that one of the members was dealing with health issues, without clarifying what was happening behind the scenes. “Despite all efforts, the band could not recover,” summed up the band on Instagram.
“We know the impact of this decision. We are deeply sorry that so many people have dedicated time, money and emotional energy to get tickets to see the band; it is heartbreaking to disappoint you. Please believe that we never make these decisions lightly, and that we do everything we can to play,” the official statement concludes.
Despite keeping it a secret, The Guardian newspaper clarified that singer Eddie Vedder had difficulty singing and appeared ill during last Tuesday’s performance (25/6). The news has ended up worrying the group’s fans, who are awaiting confirmation on their health.
