Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said the former president was “doing well” after being injured at the event. “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick response during this heinous act. He is doing well and is being evaluated at a local medical center. More details will be forthcoming,” Cheung said in a statement.

Anthony Guglielmi, the chief communications officer for the United States Secret Service, confirmed that the former president is safe. “An incident occurred on the evening of July 13th at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. There are reports that the shooter was “neutralized” and that some people at the rally were injured by gunfire and taken to nearby hospitals. World authorities have spoken out in support of Trump.
