Thus, the Digital Hate Combat Center (CCDH) carried out an in-depth study and detected that the resource has been used to spread electoral misinformation. Thus, fake images continue to spread to harm certain politicians.
“The potential for such AI-generated images to serve as ‘photographic evidence’ could exacerbate the spread of false claims, thus posing a significant challenge to preserving election integrity.“, revealed an excerpt from the report released by Digital Hate Combat Center (CCDH). The researchers of the CCDH tested several resources to reach the conclusion that the Artificial intelligence (AI) is ‘generating’ false images related to elections around the world. ChatGPT Plus (OpenAI), Image Creator (Microsoft), Midjourney It is DreamStudio (Stability AI) were platforms in which the user was able to generate photos from text commands (prompts).

AI IN THE BRAZILIAN ELECTIONS!
Last Wednesday (28), the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) defined some rules for the use of AI in this year’s elections. Thus, the ministers approved a rule that could result in the impeachment of a candidate due to irregular use of Artificial intelligence. During the definition of the theme, the minister Carmen Lucia spoke about the importance of the decision aiming at fair play between political opponents.
“The role of the TSE is to implement what is set out in the Federal Constitution and in the laws. We cannot go beyond it, we do not go beyond it, but we must comply with what the Constitution establishes.“, he said Carmen Lucia during the decision on punishment in case of irregular use of AI in this year’s municipal elections.
