Ribeirão Preto restaurant chain receives students on Sundays in July for concerts and musical activities
World Rock Day is widely celebrated in Brazil on July 13, being defined as a reference to the charity megafestival Live Aid, held on the same day, in 1985, bringing together numerous artists of the style, such as Led Zeppelin, black Sabbath, Judas Priest, queen, Sting, Santana, U2, The Who, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Neil Youngamong many others.
The action, at the time, was watched by more than 2 billion people around the world on TV, and the main shows took place at Wembley Stadium, London, and at John F. Kennedy Stadium, in the city of Philadelphia, located in the northeast region of the United States.
For years in our cultural calendar, the date has helped to promote various events in the country, especially those of live music, in all regions, agreeing with the proposal to unite styles and generations: the old is celebrated, at the same time time in which new talents are fostered.
In this scenario, the second edition of the Sundays Festival takes place, in Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo, which, in addition to celebrating the musical genre, serves as a stimulus to take care of the future.
Its proposal expands and covers the entire month of July, with activities every Sunday, always from 4 pm, at the Hard Rock Cafe Ribeirão Preto. The School of Rock Ribeirão Preto is at the forefront of the organization, allocating the 3rd and 10th for presentations by all students from the franchise’s local unit. The following three weeks will bring bands from other units, promoting exchange and integration between musicians, stimulating a taste for sound and performance.
The largest franchise of music schools in the world, School of Rock – founded in 1993 in the United States – has the second largest market in the network in Brazil. With its own methodology and a proposal focused on the experience on stage, it offers programs of individual classes, band rehearsals and quarterly presentations.
Its teaching format not only encourages the conventional technical issues of the instruments, but develops students as musicians, when they practice with bands, work on their presence and sharpen their perception and musical taste. The performance-based method boosted students and the brand itself, which currently serves more than 40,000 apprentices, with around 300 units in several countries. In the national territory alone, there are more than 5 thousand currently enrolled.
