The Wanted member Tom Parker was battling terminal brain cancer
Tom Parkermember of the British boy band The Wanted, died this Wednesday, 30, at the age of 33 after a battle with a terminal brain tumor. The news was shared on social media by the singer’s wife, Kelsey Parker:
“It is with a broken heart that we confirm that Tone died earlier today alongside his entire family. Our hearts are broken. Tone was the center of our world and we couldn’t imagine a life without his smile and presence,” he wrote (via Who).
Kelsey added: “We are truly grateful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all join together to ensure that the light of Tone keep shining for your beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who supported us all the way, he fought until the end. I’m always proud of you [Tom].”

The official account of The Wanted also posted a message about the musician: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole family The Wanted are devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our bandmate Tom Parkerwho passed away peacefully at lunch today surrounded by his family and bandmates. Tone was an amazing husband to Kelsey and father to aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words cannot express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.”
In 2020, Tom revealed the tumor, a stage 4 glioblastoma, stating that it was inoperable. Despite having an improvement in the frame in the last year, the singer could not resist. “We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity. And together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all possible treatment options. It’s going to be a tough battle, but with the love and support of all of you, we’re going to win it,” he said at the time.
Tone was part of the group The Wanted with Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuinesswho had the peak of their career in 2012, with the hit “Glad You Cam.” In 2014, the band announced a hiatus and returned in 2021 with the album greatest hitseven making some presentations, but Tone had to leave due to illness.
