Melody claims R$400,000 loss in car accident


The singer commented that her team is trying to negotiate with “the people on the bus” to pay for the material damages.

Melody gave an interview to “Tá na Hora” about the car accident she and her team suffered last weekend. The singer said she suffered a loss of R$400,000 after wedging her van between two vehicles in Rio de Janeiro.

“Guys, it was a very complex accident, but, thank God, no one was hospitalized, no one died, but everyone was suffering. There was a [integrante da equipe] who tore the ligaments in his leg, but at least they all got out alive”, Melody reported, during the interview given on Monday (2/7).

The young woman also explained in more detail how the serious accident occurred, before revealing the overall extent of the damage: “There was a truck in front of us, and the driver of the bus behind came with everything. We were standing in front of us.” The van was crushed between the two vehicles. Unfortunately, it cost R$400,000. We are trying to contact the bus staff to see if they will cover it.”

“He [o motorista do ônibus, que teria causado o acidente] He said he didn’t see that the van was stopped, that it was going at full speed, he tried to brake and he couldn’t,” added Melody, who was able to perform her show normally, but continues to feel pain in her body.

“Even with the belt [de segurança]I flew, I was in the back. I hurt myself badly, in my neck, in my back, I hit my head. I went to the hospital, I did the tests, I spent four hours in the hospital. Some of my musicians couldn’t do the show. They couldn’t stand up,” the singer recalled.

Melody’s Accident

Melody’s van was involved in a serious accident on Saturday afternoon (20/7) on Dutra Street, in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, while she was on her way to a show. In the videos, the artist showed the condition of the vehicle, completely destroyed after the collision with a bus. “It hit us and dragged all the cars,” she said.

According to the Federal Traffic Police (PRF), at least 10 vehicles were involved in the collision and were seriously damaged, according to images released. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
