Pe Lu Speaks Out After Restart Cancels Tour Shows

The band Restart have announced the cancellation of two shows on their farewell tour For you to rememberwhich will be held in Salvador on August 3 and in Goiânia on the 10th of next month. In a statement released on social media, the group explained that the decision was made “due to problems that directly affect the logistics of holding” the presentations.

Refunds for purchased tickets and experiences will be processed automatically through the Tickt360 platform, the band said. “We hope to see you on the other dates of the tour,” the statement concluded. The news sparked outrage among some fans, who took to social media to express their frustration.

“This is unacceptable, no matter who’s to blame,” wrote one follower. Another commented: “I understand it’s not your fault, but with 11 days left before the show, you know… Flight and accommodation paid for, bullshit.” Despite the dissatisfaction, some fans also defended the band: “Frustration is valid, hate is never…”, a third noted.

Motivation by Pe Lu, member of Restart

To clarify the situation, Father Luone of the members of Restart, recorded a video explaining the reasons for the cancellations. He said that no artist likes to cancel shows and stressed that the farewell tour is being carried out with great commitment. “We are doing it in competition. None of us received a million dollar advance. We just had an idea, a desire, we found a partner to commit to this thing and that’s it,” he said.

Pe Lu also said that this is the biggest tour the band has done since its creation 16 years ago. “We’ve never had such a big production, lights, screen, stage, the show is really beautiful. But a show of this size costs a lot to go to places and sometimes the bill doesn’t add up,” he explained.

The musician reiterated that the band has always maintained a transparent relationship with fans, even in difficult situations. “I guarantee you that we will do each of these shows for free. But we cannot give up what we imagine artistically for her and offer a smaller or simpler show,” he said.

The farewell tour continues with dates in several cities until October of this year. Pe Lu, on behalf of his bandmates, apologized to fans in Salvador and Goiânia. “I know it’s very annoying to have to deal with cancellations of shows, I know that there are people who have been waiting for these moments for a long time and I assure you that we were too. But sometimes things don’t go exactly as we planned. On our Plus, we did everything we could to try to bring you the show, but it didn’t work out,” he concluded.
