Cher’s autobiography to be published in two parts


This Wednesday (24), singer Cher shared the cover of her autobiography, Cher: Memoirs, Part One on your Instagram.

“After more than seven decades of struggling to live her life on her own terms, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate detail in a two-part memoir. With characteristic honesty and humor, Cher: The Memoir traces how this diamond in the rough managed, with no plan and little faith, to become the trailblazing superstar the world couldn’t ignore for more than half a century.”, the publisher said in a statement.

The memoir aims to chronicle the singer’s childhood up until her meeting and marriage to Sonny Bono, also detailing “the highly complicated relationship that made them famous around the world but ultimately drove them apart.”

It’s worth noting that the autobiography has been anticipated since 2017, when the singer announced that she was writing her memoirs. Last year, Cher spoke about the project with The Hollywood Reporter: “Well, we’re almost done because [HarperCollins] He said, ‘Cher, how long are you going to work on this thing?’ That’s hard too, but we’re so close.”

Also according to The Hollywood Reporter, Dey Street Books, which belongs to HarperCollins Publishers, has confirmed the release date for the first part for November 19.

Dey Street Books said the book will be published worldwide. It will also be published by HarperNonFiction in the UK and by HarperCollins in Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and Brazil.

The book Cher: Memoirs, Part Two will be released in 2025.
