Melody and Bella Angel spark outrage over ‘Stupid Cupid’ ban

The song “Cupido Gostoso” has retained the same sound as the original song, released in 1958

A champion of controversy in funk, Melody has recently created another one, this time in rock. She and her sister Bella Angel sparked outrage among Internet users after posting a ban on “Estúpido Cupido,” a classic rock song released by Celly Campelo in 1958. The song, titled “Cupido Gostoso,” kept the same sound as the original song, but changed the whole letter.

In the new version, the young women sing adult and erotic phrases, such as the famous line “Hey Cupid, get away from me,” which has been replaced by the request “Hey Cupid, come fuck me.” Another line in the song says, “But he was bad and I gave so much more.”

These “heavier” parts are sung only by Belle Angel, who is of age and 19 – Melody is only 17 -, but this has not stopped the criticism. “There should be a law that prohibits ruining existing lyrics,” suggested one Internet user. “They ruined the music with this pornography,” complained another profile.
