The singer began her artistic career as an actress and her preferred title mixes her two areas of activity
Olivia Rodrigo She began her artistic career at a very young age. Before dedicating herself to music, she worked as an actress — starring in commercials when she was barely out of diapers.
Already in her teens, she was “discovered” by Disney and became a star of the shows Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In this way, it became known throughout the planet.
As a singer, she released two studio albums: Sour (2021) and Guts (2023). “Drivers License”, “Deja Vu”, “Good 4 U”, “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” are some of his biggest hits.
Even though she is more dedicated to music, Rodrigo remains committed to her career as an actress. And like everyone else, she also has her favorite movies.
On one occasion, he revealed his favorite work of all time. Interestingly, the chosen work — which was quite successful a few years ago — is a mix of the two areas in which he became famous as an artist.
In an interview with the website Letterboxd (via Far Out Magazine), Olivia was rightly asked about her favorite movie. The chosen one was the musical La La Land (2016), directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
When justifying her choice, Olivia Rodrigo stated that she considers the title a timeless film that can transcend time. The artist stated:
It’s just a timeless film. I always wonder what pieces of culture will transcend (time). In 2050, what will people look back on and think of the 2020s? Just like we look back on, for example, the 1980s and the MadonnaI think that La La Land will definitely transcend.”

La La Land is a musical with touches of comedy and drama. In the film, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone play, respectively, a jazz pianist trying to establish himself in the music scene and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love. Together, the two try to achieve their artistic dreams in the city of Los Angeles.
The cast of La La Land also includes names like the singer John Legend, JK Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt and Finn Wittrock. In addition to directing, Damien Chazelle — who conceived the film while still studying at the renowned Harvard University — also wrote the script.
La La Land was a huge critical and box office success. It grossed $472 million, with a budget of just $30 million. It received several awards, including seven Golden Globes and the Oscar for best actress for Emma Stone and best director for Damien Chazelle. It has also been referred to as one of the best musicals in the history of cinema.
