Justin Timberlake Returns to Brazil for His New Tour

Coldplay have just released the tracklist for their new album, “MOON MUSIC” (written like that, in all caps), which will be out in October. Like their previous album – “Music of the Spheres” – this album also features titles written in capital letters (with the exception of the letter “i”, which is curiously written in lowercase) and one of the songs is titled just like an emoji. In this case, the rainbow emoji.

For many sections of the specialized press, this is just another album from a band that once existed. Recently, even the BBC wondered in an article how the band that gave us so many interesting albums, such as “Parachutes” and “A Rush of Blood to The Head”, became this band. However, Coldplay’s turn to greater popularity was not ignored by the BBC, which called them “the most successful band of the 21st century”.

The numbers back up the theories. The “Music of the Spheres” tour, which crossed Brazil, achieved the title of the most successful tour by a rock band in history, with $945.7 million raised and 8.8 million tickets sold, surpassing Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road,” which grossed $939 million after 328 shows over five years.

What is Coldplay’s secret? You might turn your nose up at the band’s current stage or even at the beginning of their career, preferring this turn towards pop and musical popularity. But no one can deny that Chris Martin and his friends have achieved an enviable position: that of the most famous rock band in the world.

Rock? That’s another conversation.
