Jared Letolead singer of the band Thirty Seconds To Mars, recently shared the financial challenges he and his brother face Shannon faced in the early years of his career. Things reached a critical point when the band was sued for $30 million for breach of contract. At the time, the record company sued the band for not releasing their third album, sparking a royalties dispute that was eventually settled, leading to the band signing with Virgin Records.
Leto also commented on the financial difficulties faced by musicians in today’s industry, mentioning that while it is possible to earn money from touring, inflation has made this task increasingly challenging.
“You earn money by traveling and nowadays it’s very difficult because of inflation”he said, adding that his passion for music is so great that he would be willing to play for free. “It’s a beautiful thing to be out there,” concluded.
