Linkin Park may be on the verge of making a major comeback following the tragic death of Chester Bennington in 2017. The band has started a 100-hour countdown on social media. The countdown is expected to end this Wednesday (28), sparking speculation among fans about a possible announcement of a new singer.
The anxiety of the group’s followers has been intensified by a recent post by Sum 41indicating that the singer Deryck Whibley will also make an announcement on the same date. This has led many to speculate that Whibley could join the Linkin Park. In the comments to the post, Internet users wondered if there was any connection between the announcement of Sum 41 and the possible return of the band.
However, Deryck Whibley quickly denied these rumors. In a statement, Whibley clarified that his announcement has no connection to the Linkin Park or the Oasiswho is also preparing for a tour in 2025.
“I feel the need to dispel some recent rumors. I just want to say that, despite popular belief, I will not be joining Oasis… or Linkin Park. Or any other band, for that matter.” said Whibley. He revealed that his announcement will be about his tour and book, which will be released after the U.S. tour.
