Nando Reis continues to innovate in music with the release of Starthe second part of his triple project A mysterious star. After the presentation Athe first album of the series, the singer now explores more mystical and introspective themes.

The release challenges industry convention, with the three albums made available in their entirety only to those who purchase the special vinyl box set. On digital platforms, the tracks are released gradually, allowing for a more detailed assessment of the work.

Star It is described by Nando Reis as an album of contrasts, full of tensions and desires, with an esoteric and spatial tone. Songs like Composition AND Foundation stoneexplores the themes of duality and love, while Crema River It stands out for the complexity of the vocal arrangements involved.

“This is the disk of the celestial bodies, of the darkness of the universe. Intriguing and intricate, it is an abstract network of nebulous tensions, contrasts, contradictions, frictions and desire”says Nando. “Even though they are three connected and complementary albums, they have an individuality. Estrela’s songs have a more mystical, esoteric and spatial aspect. This is the unity I see in them”strengthens.

On the track Crema River, Sebastian Reis AND Peter Lipa join us Nando Reis to create a rich layer of sound with four voices, highlighting Lipa singing the fourth voice in falsetto, adding an octave to the main melody. The combination of these vocal layers provides a dynamic and immersive listening experience

Now the song Temptation was born from the question “How to erase the sun?”, which inspired the song. It uses the metaphor of celestial bodies, distant and unreachable, to explore abstract feelings, dealing with the complexity of desires and the difficulty of giving them up. Estuary offers relief from longing, with lyrics that hark back to Nando’s history with Vania.

The song, composed of three simple chords, grows in layers and reflects the evolution of their relationship until the birth of their son Theo, without covering their 46 years together. Finally, the track From here on out closes the album, written in 2016, when Nando stopped drinking. The song tells of his struggle with addiction and its impact on his family, and has a positive tone, as it was written during his recovery and represents a personal triumph.

The tour A mysterious star will start on September 20th, in MacapĂ¡, and will see the participation of Peter BuckR.E.M. co-founding guitarist and drummer Barrett Martinalbum producer. The tour will pass through several Brazilian cities, such as BelĂ©m, Manaus, Belo Horizonte, SĂ£o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Tickets are now available for sale on the singer’s official website.
