Now led by Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park has announced a comeback with new members and a new studio album, titled From Zero
One of the main rock bands of the late 1990s and 2000s, Linkin Park returned to activity seven years after the death of the vocalist Chester Bennington. With a new formation and a studio album on the way, the group led by Mike Shinoda did the first live show.
The performance in question took place on the night of last Wednesday, the 11th, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, USA, with 26 tracks on the setlist, with previous hits by the band, such as “Numb,” “Crawling,” “One Step Closer” and “What I’ve Done.”
In addition to Shinodathe formation of the Linkin Park now has Emily Armstrong (vocals) and Colin Brittain (drums). Of course, the group’s new song, titled “The Emptiness Machine,” was awarded on the night. The new album is called From Zero.
In a speech to the audience present at the show (via NME), Mike Shinoda stated how the group’s new era was “not about erasing the past” with Chester Bennington. According to the singer, “part of the reason we’re back here” is to perform for new fans who have never had the opportunity to see Linkin Park live.
We’re thrilled to be back here. It’s not about erasing the past – it’s about starting this new chapter in the future and coming here for each and every one of you. We loved playing for you, we loved writing this music – we’re so excited about the new record. So thank you guys so much – we had an amazing night with you. We hope to see you soon.
