Singer Stresses Importance of Environmental Preservation During Worst Wildfires Ever
Lulu Santos, one of the most successful artists of the 80s generation, returned to Rock in Rio this Saturday afternoon (14/9) with a show marked by hits and a strong message in favor of the environment. “Attention: there is no planet B,” said the singer, after the verse “the Earth is a planet in danger,” during the performance of the song “Astronauta.” The 1999 song has become extremely timely in the face of the worst fires that have ever threatened, destroying everything and polluting the air, as they spread throughout the country.
Participation of Gabriel O Pensador
Lulu Santos’ show featured the surprise appearance of Gabriel O Pensador, with whom she shared the stage in the aforementioned “Astronauta” (Gabriel co-wrote the song) and “Cachimbo da Paz” (the rapper’s hit). “This is the Rock in Rio I know,” Lulu said at the end of the collaboration, recalling her presence at the first edition of the festival, in 1985. Over the years, the artist has participated in other shows, such as Jota Quest in 2013.
Successes that have marked generations
During the hour-long show, Lulu Santos performed 12 of her greatest romantic hits, starting with “Toda Forma de Amor,” followed by “Último Romântico” and “Tempos Modernos.” At the end of “A cura,” the singer, who recently suffered a serious health problem, made a plea “for health, culture and music.”
The presentation was marked by great interaction with the audience, who sang hits such as “Como uma Onda” and “Descobridor dos Sete Mares”.
