The funk stage attracts attention on the day of a heavy metal show at Rock in Rio

On a day with little musical diversity on the main stages, one place catches the eye: Espaço Favela, dedicated to urban music.

The Rock in Rio lineup this Sunday, the 15th, is the most rock and roll of this edition. Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescent and Deep Purple are some of the names that will perform tonight. On a day with little musical diversity on the main stages, one place attracts attention: Espaço Favela, dedicated to urban music.

A few meters from where Planet Hemp sang Admirável Chip Novo with Pitty, on the stage called Favela, funk hits and even the song Só Fé, which became a hit on social media, were performed.

From space, several people dressed in black, wearing T-shirts paying homage to Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeath, Iron Maiden and Sepultura, could be seen watching a group of dancers perform.

Many enthusiastically danced to the beat. However, some did not seem to like the space offered during Rock Day. While some enjoyed the sound, the report even saw one person give the middle finger to the stage.

For tonight, the big names at Espaço Favela are São Paulo funk artist MC Hariel and Rio de Janeiro artist MC Poze do Rodo, who are scheduled to close out the space’s performances at 9 p.m., the same time metal band Evanescent takes over the Mundo stage.
