Rock in Rio 2022: Joss Stone says her show was canceled by mistake

Your agent requested cancellation by mistake

Jeez! Last Saturday, 2nd, the Rock in Rio 2022 show by Joss Stone it was canceled. On the day, the festival announced that the British singer would no longer be performing because she canceled due to personal problems.

At the same time they announced Jessie J as a replacement, but now the singer has confirmed that the cancellation was by mistake. Stone said that she really wanted to perform at the Rio festival in September, but unfortunately she won’t be able to anymore, because of the mistake.

“Dear fans in Brazil.

I am very sad to say that I will not be playing at Rock in Rio this year. Not by my choice. My US agent mistakenly made the prosecutor [do Rock in Rio] believe I couldn’t play at the festival. So of course he had to fill in for me so you could all have fun and still listen to great music. The sad part is that I can play and would be more than happy to do so.

The truth is, this is my agent making decisions for me, not me. I’m beyond upset that I won’t be playing Rock in Rio this year as I couldn’t wait for it for a long time and will continue to look forward to the next opportunity to play at such a wonderful festival.

I apologize for the mistakes that were unnecessarily made. Rather than making a vague statement to forget about it I chose to be completely honest about how it happened because I would hate for anyone to think I gave up because I really didn’t.

We all make mistakes. We are human. This is just a very big mistake. I apologize for that. The Brazilian fans are the most passionate people and I hope to see you all at other shows and hopefully at a Rock in Rio in the future.

Lucky for you, Jessie J is a fantastic artist who puts on a fabulous show. So please go and enjoy the music she will bring. It will be so much fun, dance for me!”official statement by Joss Stone published on her Facebook page.
