The singer officially returned to the big stages of the Rock in Rio festival in Rio, and thanked his fans and Brazil
Shawn Mendes performed on the last day of Rock in RioSunday night, 22. The singer, who returns to the big stage for the first time since 2022, moved the audience with praise for Brazilians and detailed his mental health on the microphone at the Rio festival.
Regarding his mental health, he explained that he went through times where he felt under pressure when he was younger: “I felt like everything was on my shoulders and all the pressure in the world was on me, and that destroyed me over time.”
“I started to get closer to my friends and family and realized that I am not alone in this, no one is alone,” she also said.
This isn’t the first time the singer has spoken out on the subject. Upon his return, at a smaller show in London, the Canadian said he had experienced “intense feelings of loneliness and anxiety.”

But the singer’s show was not only about delicate moments: he also thanked Brazil for its hospitality and raised the country’s flag in some of his songs. Shawn Mendes, finally, presented a version of the Brazilian song But nothingoriginal from Jorge Ben Jorwho became known with the voice of Sergio Mendes.
