THE Rolling Stone USA has published an exclusive list of the 101 best soundtracks of all time, featuring classics that have marked the history of cinema and music. The list includes hits from Prince and of the Beatles until Eminemamong many others.

It is worth noting that the list does not include soundtracks composed of original scores or musicals, which fall into different categories. Here, the choice was for collections of songs that manage to have a life of their own outside of the films, while remaining closely linked to the works.

‘Some soundtracks have accompanied memorable films, while others are so memorable that they surpass the quality of the films themselves.’
