By surprise, Lady Gaga announced the launch of Harlequinalbum inspired by Joker: Delirium for Twothe long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film, in which the artist plays the villain Harley Quinn. But when will the new feature be released on audio platforms?

What we know about Harlequin?

Gaga announced the album, which has thirteen songs, last Tuesday, September 24, on their social networks. Among the songs, there is “The Joker”reinterpretation of the song from the British musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowdreleased in the 1960s.

The song was also recorded by Brazilian pianist and arranger Sergio Mendeswho passed away earlier this month, on the album Herb Alpert presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66, of 1966. Check out the tracklist complete of Harlequin next:

First preview of the album

This Wednesday (25), Gaga revealed the first preview of Harlequinwhich is precisely an excerpt from the music video for “The Joker”. No teaserthe artistperforms the novelty inside the Louvre Museum, in Paris, France, and puts on a smile similar to that of Jokerlived by Joaquin Phoenix (Napoleon), in Mona Lisafamous painting by Leonardo da Vinci. When Harlequin will be released?

Harlequin arrives on audio platforms from next Friday, September 27th, one week before the premiere of Joker: Delirium for Two. It is worth noting that, despite being inspired by the film, the album is not the soundtrack for the new film, which will be a musical.

On Joker: Delirium for Two

In Joker: Delirium for Twowe must follow the birth of the explosive relationship between Arthur Fleckwho at the end of the first film assumed the identity of Joker and began to terrorize the city of Gotham, and its psychiatrist, Harley Quinnwho ends up falling madly in love with her patient.

In addition to Joaquin Phoenix again in the skin of Arthur Fleck/Joker, Zazie Beetz also returns in the second film as Sophie Drummondthe villain’s romantic interest in the first film. Among the new features, Lady Gaga is the main addition, but it also gains the company of Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jacob Lofland (A Son), Catherine Keener (Run!), Ken Leung (Lost) and Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye).

Joker: Delirium for Two is directed by Todd Phillipswho directed the first film, based on the filmmaker’s own script together with Scott Silverwith whom he worked in Joker; and premieres on October 3rd in Brazilian cinemas. Watch the trailer:
