“For a while I was fine, but that plane crash in Brazil left me in crisis while I was in Europe,” he said in an interview with the newspaperWall Street Journal.
“And that gave me one of the most realistic flashback nightmares I’ve ever had since I had the accident,” he further revealed.
According to the drummer, for this reason he could only continue the band’s tour by traveling by bus and ferry. Barker said he took 15 19-hour bus trips.
“I just went to Europe and back by plane. But I’m not well enough to fly now. I’m going by bus until the end of the year. I have good and bad phases, and I’m really fragile right now,” he said.
Barker was involved in a plane crash in the United States 16 years ago, in which four people died. During takeoff, the plane released sparks, left the runway and crashed into a fence. Then it caught fire. The drummer was seriously injured.
