The public waited in line at Allianz Parque, while physical sales took place at Shopping Ibirapuera
Linkin Park fans were furious Monday morning (9/30) after missing out on physical ticket sales for the band’s concert in Sao Paulo. It turns out that Ticketmaster advised that tickets would only be sold at Allianz Parque, but promoted a “sudden change” of the box office all the way to Shopping Ibirapuera.
Online sales opened at 10am and digital tickets sold out on the platform in less than 20 minutes. The expectation of around 200 fans was to purchase tickets in person, which is usually better guaranteed than queuing online.
However, the public waited idly in front of the Palmeiras stadium for the opening of physical sales, which were already taking place normally in the Ibirapuera spot. It is worth remembering that, normally, the restaurant is not open on Mondays.
The fans were injured
Fans were alerted to the confusion on the platform at around 11.30am, when physical tickets were virtually all sold in Ibirapuera. Outraged, they inquired about the changes, but no Ticketmaster employee was present at Allianz to provide clarification.
“It was our biggest dream to go to the concert of the band we love the most,” said one of the fans, Fernando Branco, who was with his brother Caio, who has a physical-motor disability. “He rarely gets a chance to go out, he’s always in treatment. It was his chance to feel normal again.”
Even some people in line at the Allianz felt offended, because they came from other states to buy tickets: “I was supported by two people who live in Rio Grande do Sul and who will not be able to go to the show”, complained the student Guilherme Petean .
Linkin Park will present the “From Zero” world tour on November 15 and 16, at Allianz Parque Stadium, in Sao Paulo. The second date will go on sale this Tuesday (1/10) for Santander customers, while the general public will be able to purchase tickets on November 3.
Ticketmaster consultants have not yet commented on the matter, but the space remains open for updates on the case.
