The images portray the samba singer’s spiritual journey together with her guardian saint Tia Glorinha
Xande de Pilares released this Friday (10/4) the music video for “Banho de Folhas” in which he recounts his spiritual journey alongside the saint’s guardian, Tia Glorinha, who is also president of the Bahian wing of Salgueiro. The song is now available on digital platforms.
“Banho de Folhas” is a re-recording of the single released by Luedji Luna and Emilie Lapa, which describes the purification rituals of Afro-Brazilian religions in search of balance and spiritual evolution. The new production marks the return of the samba singer, one year after the release of “Xande Canta Caetano”.
“No answer / But a handful of sacred leaves / To heal me, to keep me from all evil / Lightning rod, white beetle, roasted fish / Make way, patchouli,” says an excerpt from the song, describing one of the various types of herbal baths .
The new version also bears the signature of artistic director Felipe Bueno, with musical production by Luciano Broa and special arrangements by Nélio Junior, which guarantee a reinterpretation rich in cultural diversity.
