One of Buffalo Springfield’s signature songs, ‘Hung Upside Down’ had not been played live since the band’s disbandment in the late 1960s.
For the first time in 57 years, the singers Neil Young and Stephen Stills played the song “Hung Upside Down,” band song Buffalo Springfield present on the studio album Buffalo Springfield Againthe second of the group that had the duo in formation.
The event in question took place at the benefit concert Harvest Moonin Lake Hughes, California. Organized by himself Youngthe presentation brought together several famous musicians and artists to raise funds.
According to information from the KSENone of the most memorable moments of the show happened when Young invited Stephen Stills to go on stage. First, they played “Long May You Run,” from 1976, followed by “Human Highway.”
Then, the two music veterans performed “Hung Upside Down,” which had not been played in concert since the end of Buffalo Springfieldin 1968. “The four worst words you can hear at a live performance are ‘here’s a new song,'” he stated Stills. “But this is actually a new version of an old song that took two centuries to write.” Furthermore, they even sang “Helplessly Hoping,” “Helpless,” “Field Of Opportunity” and “Love The One You’re With.” See below:
