Shakira releases the video for “Soltera” with Anitta, Danna Paola and Lele Pons

A new clip celebrates the post-divorce phase and reunites Latin stars for a ladies-only night

Shakira released this Friday (11/10) the video for “Soltera”, marking a new moment in her life after her divorce from footballer Gerard Piqué. In the video, the Colombian singer celebrates her singlehood alongside the Brazilian Anitta and other artists from Latin America and the Caribbean, such as the Venezuelan digital influencer Lele Pons, the Mexican singer and actress Danna Paola, the Dominican singer Natti Natasha and the top Canadian model Winnie Harlow, daughter of Jamaicans and known for representing people with vitiligo, as well as Argentine music producer Bizarrap.

In the clip, Shakira and her companions wake up with a hangover after a night out. The production is set in an all-female universe, showing the group having fun on a yacht during the day, including scenes of Shakira surfing, and a night of fun and games, passing through a crowded nightclub. Anitta appears only in this part, recorded at Liv Miami, one of the most well-known nightclubs in the Florida city, but guarantees several close-ups next to the Colombian star.

“I have the right to misbehave/to have fun,” Shakira sings in the chorus of the tropical pop version. “I’m alone and now I can do what I want / It’s good to be single.”

The singer will perform the song live for Brazilian audiences in February, when she brings her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour to Rio and Sao Paulo – her first world tour in six years.
