Charlie Puth honored Liam Payne during an event held at iHeart Radio headquarters. In addition to singing his songs, he performed I love you, goodbye, From One directiona band Payne was a member of for six years.
The artist died last Wednesday, 16, at the age of 31, after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he was staying in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The tribute was shared by the radio on social media. In the comments, fans and followers were moved. “They were such friends, what a beautiful tribute,” one commented. “Oh my God. Charlie Puth made everyone cry with this beautiful One Direction cover. My heart can’t take it. I’m crying,” another said.
Puth had already paid tribute to Liam Payne when news of his death broke. In 2017, the two worked together on the song Flower bedroom.
