The conversation between the musicians was revealed by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, a friend of the singer, in an interview with the magazine Advertising billboard. She was one of the creators of the British band.
“I think something that hasn’t been said yet that I think I can say is that she was obviously Liam’s mentor from One Direction. Wednesday [16] that he had died, she exchanged messages with him that same day,” she explained.
He also spoke of the professionalism of his friend, who presented the musical Susent Boulevard after finding out that Payne is dead. “The fact that she still did the show is amazing. I mean, she’s wonderful, a wonderful woman. She is, without a doubt, one of the best artists I’ve ever worked with.”
Nicole Scherzinger paid tribute to the former One Direction member on her social media. “I will always cherish and cherish the time we shared together, from 15 years ago, when One Direction was born, to just a few weeks ago. […] It’s been so hard to process the fact that you’re no longer here, but I’m grateful to have known your kind heart, sweet soul and character,” she wrote.
