Sam Pounds explained that he preferred to respect the mourning of the former One Direction’s friends and family
Respect for pain
Singer and producer Sam Pounds has decided to postpone the release of the posthumous song “Do No Wrong” out of respect for the grieving family of Liam Payne (1993-2024). The news was released by the artist himself on Tuesday (29/10), on his profile X (formerly Twitter).
The musician, who has already produced songs for Jamie Foxx and Wiz Khalifa, explained that he preferred to cancel the release of the song out of respect for his friends and family, who continue to mourn the death of the former One member Direction. The song was originally going to be released this Friday (1/11), but there are no new predictions at the moment.
“Today I decided to postpone ‘Do No Wrong’ and walk away from this decision [sobre o lançamento] for all family members. I want all profits to go back to aa [instituição de] charity of their choice (or as they wish),” Pounds wrote.
Let’s wait
Pounds also believes that the time has come to ask for peace and prayers: “Even though we all love music, it is not the time yet. We are still mourning Liam’s death and I want the family to be able to mourn his passing in peace and prayer Let’s wait,” added the producer.
Liam Payne died at the age of 31 on October 16, after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the autopsy, the British singer suffered a bout of substance abuse (drugs, alcohol and medications) before dying from multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
Today I decided to keep “Do No Wrong” and leave these freedoms to all family members. I want all proceeds to go to a charity of their choice (or however they wish). Even though we all love the song, it’s not time yet. We’re all still mourning Liam’s passing and…
