Deezer celebrates Rita Lee’s legacy by listening to an unreleased album

Event promoted in partnership with Universal Music which brought together the singer’s superfans for the launch of “Rita Lee – Night at Luna Park

Last Thursday, October 31st, Deezer promoted an exclusive listening session of the album entitled “Rita Lee – A night at Luna Park – live in Buenos Aires” at its headquarters in Sao Paulo, in collaboration with Universal Music. Aimed at superfans, i.e. the users who reproduce the singer’s repertoire the most on the platform, the event marked the historic launch of the show recorded in Argentina in November 2002, never published before.

The action was a tribute to the unique personality of the Brazilian “rock witch”. Roberto de Carvalho, Rita’s musical and personal partner, was present accompanied by the journalist Guilherme Samora, who experienced the last years of Rita’s career up close, as official photographer, editor of her books and screenwriter of the musical based on her autobiography .

During the audition, Roberto and Gui shared with the superfans stories about Rita Lee and interesting facts about the album and their time in Argentina:

“’Besame Mucho’ is my favorite song from this show, because since we started thinking about the show, the song has always been one of my avatar songs,” Roberto said. The musician and Rita’s partner also remembered the couple’s memorable moments, such as the day when Rita, pregnant, gave him the song “Doce Vampiro”, and also declared, moved, of Rita’s very strong presence in his life: ” There will never be another woman like Rita.” As a souvenir of this meeting, fans received autographs, took photos with Roberto and received exclusive t-shirts with a classic photo of the singer dressed as a witch, a black cat on her lap and the phrase: “the black cat brings good luck”. .

“I’m 29 years old, but my relationship with Rita began when I was 19, when some friends remembered the Mutantes’ discography and I had never stopped paying due attention. I read Claudio Calado’s book, listened to the discography and although the brothers were incredible, the excited blonde won my heart at the first outburst and then it was only a matter of time. Her songs always gave me comfort, Rita left me an orphan and I wasn’t even her daughter. The first song that was played for me was “Cartão Postal” and I was going through a breakup. Then came more difficult situations, other happy ones, and she always had a song to listen to and say “here, I’m not alone”. Rita’s songs continue to accompany me daily to give me encouragement, calm, to dance like crazy while I wash the dishes… she is a great therapist and life partner”, underlines superfan Millena Ribeiro.

The album “Rita Lee – A night at Luna Park – live in Buenos Aires” is available on Deezer. This work will also contain a double vinyl, which will be released in November, via Universal Music.
