Platform recorded band numbers after their first show in the country in nine years
After more than nine years, the Smashing Pumpkins finally returned to perform in Brazil. The tour The World Is a Vampire arrived in Brasília last Friday (1) and in São Paulo on Sunday (3).
The group’s last show in the country took place in 2015.
The passage of Smashing Pumpkins across Brazil increased the group’s popularity on music platforms. According to Deezer, reproductions of the band’s songs grew 82% on November 1st compared to October 27th.
Among the group’s biggest hits on the platform are: “1979”, “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” and “Tonight, Tonight” (see the complete list below).
São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte were the cities with the highest peak in streams.
The platform also identified that the male audience represents the majority of listeners of Smashing Pumpkins. In terms of age, almost half of the band’s fans are between 36 and 45 years old.
