Simple Minds confirm two dates in Brazil for May

Ticket sales will begin on November 21st

Simple Minds, one of the most iconic bands of the 80s and most successful in the UK, will arrive in Brazil in 2025. There will be two performances. The first will be in Rio de Janeiro, on May 3, at Qualistage, and the other in Sao Paulo, on May 4, at Espaço Unimed. Ticket sales will start on November 21st at 10.00 am.

Known in Brazil for their stage performances, the Scottish group is already on the road, on their Global Tour 2024 world tour, where they hope to play for more than a million people. At the shows they mix songs from their eighteenth studio album “Direction of the Heart” with classics.

To date, the group has sold more than 60 million records, with songs such as Mandela Day, Don’t You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking and New Gold Dream. Simple Minds consists of Jim Kerr (singer), Charlie Burchill (guitarist) and collaborators: Ged Grimes (bassist), Sarah Brown (backing vocals), Gordy Goudie (guitar), Erik Ljunggren (keyboardist) and Cherisse Osei (drummer). The first album, Life in a Day, was released in 1979.

Simple Minds emerged in the climate of the post-punk era, with a style rooted in the art-rock of David Bowie and the dance of Donna Summer. Forty-five years later, they released the album “Direction of The Heart”. “The title of the most recent album “Direction of the heart” was an expression we had used for a long time,” said Jim Kerr. “Follow your own path and walk it – that, in a nutshell, sums up everything we’ve done,” he adds.
