Brazilians won awards in Portuguese-focused categories; see the highlights
The Brazilians were present and were awarded during the awards ceremony Latin Grammy 2024, which took place in Miami, USA, this Thursday 14 Artists like Erasmo Carlos (1941-2022), Xandé de Pilares AND Gabriel the thinker won awards in segmented categories for music in Portuguese, announced in the afternoon, before the main ceremony.
The second part of the event concluded in the early hours of this Friday the 15th in Brazil. Among the main consecrated persons, the veteran Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra it won Record of the Year and Album of the Year Ela Taubertfrom Colombia, won the Rookie of the Year award Jorge Drexler was awarded Song of the Year by Turn it over.
The Brazilian Anita she did not win any awards in this edition, she performed alongside Tiago Iorc to pay homage to the musician Sergio Mendes, who passed away in September, at the age of 83. The duo performed an acoustic version of But what nothing.
