The rapper was accused of, among other things, propaganda of anti-Semitism, illegal dismissal, harassment at work
Accumulated complaints
Murphy Aficionado, a former employee of Kanye West, has filed 12 criminal complaints against the rapper and his companies, Yeezy LCC and Donda Academy, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation. The information was released this Friday (11/15) by People magazine.
Aficionado was a project manager for nine months at Yeezy, long enough to “almost immediately” discover West’s anti-Semitic acts. He claimed that the rapper soon began expressing “his proud and well-known prejudice and anti-Semitism” and “preached this dogma almost every day.”
The former employee further described that West “often made derogatory comments about Jews, [como] «The Jews are hunting me. They froze my bank account. The Jews took Kim [Kardashian] and my children.'” The rapper also allegedly said things like “the Jews convinced Kim. It has Jewish teachers.”
At another point, West reportedly made discriminatory comments about Aficionado’s Filipino origins and allegedly told him to remove his “ugly” traditional tattoos and “Batok,” a term that refers to the indigenous Filipino tattoo practice that uses bone or wooden tools.
Very serious harassment
Murphy Aficionado also reported that in November 2022 he was “summoned” to a supposed “business meeting” in West’s room at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills. As soon as we arrived on site “it was immediately evident [Bianca] Censors and Ye were having sex.” The rapper allegedly “ordered” him to come in and sit in the hotel room.
Censors would have closed the door of the adjacent room, but “You reopened the closed door completely exposing the model’s naked breasts”. Afterward, West reportedly “asked Aficionado what he thought of Candace Owens’ lawyer, who had just left, and added, ‘I think he’s a Jewish spy.'”
The former employee reported that, “suddenly and without warning, in the middle of the conversation, Ye ran toward the room where Censors was,” and, when he tried to walk away, “Ye ordered, ‘Wait here. Don’t leave.” ‘”. Once again, West went into the adjacent bedroom and allegedly became intimate with the model.
A few minutes later, West returned to the room with Aficionado wearing a T-shirt with a swastika on it. “’You don’t like my shirt?’” Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband reportedly said. The former employee felt intimidated and worried about the possibility of losing his job. “It’s definitely unique,” he replied.
“Then, randomly and without prompting, Ye sat down with Aficionado, showing him nude photos of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on his phone,” an excerpt from the criminal complaint describes. That same week, the former employee was asked to return to West’s room.
This time, Aficionado ran into West and “a famous NFL player” with only towels waiting for massages. He offered to leave the venue, but West once again “ordered” him to wait in the hotel room. The complaint says the rapper “had sex” with his masseuse.
“Aficionado tried his best to focus on the business discussion with Ye, but remained extremely uncomfortable, especially while the NFL player could be heard in the background,” the lawsuit describes.
Work process
In February 2023, Murphy Aficionado was reportedly tasked by Kanye West with “relocating the Donda Academy school”, which still needed the necessary building permits. The artist “became angry and shouted that he would not accept waiting or using licenses.”
Interestingly, a Donda representative said in July that the school would “no longer be operational.” Shortly thereafter, Aficionado had his Yeezy assignments “revoked” and discovered he was “no longer welcome in the offices” of Yeezy.
Aficionado claimed he had suffered an “illegal dismissal” and had not received any compensation for the time he worked. In the complaint he describes having started his business in October 2022, with a workload of between 50 and 70 hours per week and “on several occasions he even slept in the office”.
Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that “Defendants violated these laws by failing to timely provide Plaintiff’s final paycheck and failing to pay penalties, including additional wages, interest, and fees.” He says he has suffered economic, non-pecuniary, punitive damages, as well as malice, oppression, fraud and exhaustion of resources, motivating the request for payment of legal costs.
