Sean “Diddy” Combs accused of plotting to influence his judgment

The tycoon accumulates several charges and has been arrested for two months in New York

Breaking prison rules

Sean “Diddy” Combs was charged with violating prison rules and attempting to “corruptly influence the testimony of witnesses.” The rapper was imprisoned for two months in the federal detention center in Brooklyn, New York. The information was released by the American newspaper The New York Times.

According to court documents, Diddy allegedly used the phone access of at least eight inmates through an “unauthorized third-party messaging service,” as well as instructing his children to start a “social media campaign” to influence a potential jury . The rapper also allegedly called three people, instructing them to add more people to the calls to make it difficult to identify the group.

The prosecution claims that the video published by the tycoon’s children was strategically planned to interfere with the jury in the criminal case. “Under the defendant’s carefully selected guidance, the defendant’s children posted a video to their respective social media accounts showing them gathered together to celebrate the defendant’s birthday,” authorities explain.

Another complaint

The new charges are part of documentation sent to Diddy’s defense after he was denied a new bail request under conditions of house arrest and 24-hour surveillance. People magazine adds that prosecutors say the rapper ordered his partners to “pay the prisoners” via bank transfer and account deposit apps.

“The defendant has demonstrated an unusual ability to convince others to do his bidding: MDC employees, family members and inmates [centro de detenção metropolitano]”, the document describes, citing singer Kalenna Harper, who was part of the musical group Diddy-Dirty Money, as a possible witness to the allegations.

Before the rapper’s arrest, singer Dawn Richard, also of the group, filed a lawsuit accusing him of harassment and threats. The case was dropped, but prosecutors believe Kalenna would have been forced to speak out against the celebrity’s allegations. The defense claims that the statement was made voluntarily.

The prosecution’s case is supported by a recent search of the prison, in which new evidence was found about communication between Diddy and Kalenna. Federal Bureau of Prisons investigators reportedly found notes in the rapper’s cell indicating a payment made to the singer after the story was posted on social media.

Arrest of the rapper

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in prison since September 16 on charges of sexual abuse, sex trafficking, extortion and other crimes. The rapper has already amassed more than 120 reports of men and women attending his lavish parties. He was denied habeas corpus and is awaiting trial in prison, scheduled for May 5, 2025.
