Grammy-winning duo surpass historic milestones with recording of ‘Die With A Smile’

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars accomplished a historic feat with the song “Die With A Smile” this Wednesday (11/20). The single, released on August 16, became the fastest song in history to reach 1 billion plays on Spotify, reaching the milestone in just 96 days.
According to the Guinness Book, the previous record was held by “Seven”, a collaboration between Jung Kook and Latto, which reached the milestone in 108 days. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars achieved the feat 12 days early.
Other records
In addition to being the fastest to reach 1 billion streams, “Die With A Smile” also leads the chart for the most consecutive days above 10 million daily plays on Spotify, for a total of 69 days.
The previous record was held by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which remained 29 days above the mark.
Grammy recognition
The pop duo’s music is also in the spotlight during awards season. “Die With A Smile” was nominated for a Grammy in two categories: Best Duo Performance and Song of the Year.
The song is considered the audience’s favorite to win both awards.
