Google pays tribute to Raul Seixas on the wrong date

The singer wins a commemorative doodle in reference to his birthday, which occurred four months ago

Frustrated homage

Google wanted to honor Raul Seixas with a doodle commemorating his birth date this Saturday (11/22). Published on the homepage of the search portal, a drawing commemorated what would have been the singer’s 79th birthday. Raul, however, was born on June 28, 1945 in Salvador, Bahia. Ironically, there was a lack of research.

After the error was reported, the page was corrected, changing the justification of the debut of a show at the Bandeirantes Theater, in São Paulo, in 1977. It was the only event they found to connect the date with the homage to the artist .

The illustration was created by Portuguese artist Paola Saliby, who looked for inspiration in the cover of the album “Gita” (1974). Saliby highlighted the expressiveness of Raul’s hands as a surprising element, reproduced in the drawing.

Raul Seixas and his impact on Brazilian rock

Known as the “father of Brazilian rock”, Raul has built a solid career with 21 albums released in 26 years. His great partner was the “magician” Paulo Coelho, who helped bring the esotericism of his music to its peak in 1974, with the release of the smash hit “Gita”. Other famous hits of the singer are “Maluco Beleza”, “Sociedade Alternativa”, “Mosca na Sopa” and “Metamorfose Ambulante”.

Raul died on August 21, 1989 in Sao Paulo, due to complications from chronic pancreatitis. His death occurred shortly after the release of his last album, “A Panela do Diabo”, produced in collaboration with Marcelo Nova.
